We are a large family hailing from NY, Mass., & NC! 15 of us and 2 goldens. Here is a list of our most memorable moments: Walking the dogs to the waterfall, crossing the tree across the creek, paddling to Scottsville, running thru rapids, picking eggs in the morning, ping-pong, fuse ball, listening to the trains, putting pennies on the tracks, fires outside in the evenings, wine tasting and hours of wine drinking, exploring the interesting ambiance here, chicken runs, enjoying the fresh herbs in the garden, cooking in your state-of-the-art kitchen, running on hay bales, exploring the bamboo forest, biking was great, sleeping in the book nook, the very dangerous swing, the dogs being dogs, the gardens at Monticello, Charlottesville, th Scottsville bar and dancing with the locals at Main, serious ping-pong, the beautiful mornings and fantastic evenings, having room to cook together, the records, learning the history here, collecting coal. Warren Mill fit our family well- perfect for my grandparents 60th anniversary and a birthday. we hope to return someday soon. PS- look up tim at First Colony- he is great! (Kluge is better) We found this place by searching "charming, pet-friendly, Virginia rental" we certainly found what we were looking for. Thank You! Sincerely, The Ambrose, Migirditch, Vincent, Taffee, and Walter family

Dear Lisa, Just wanted to let you know what a great time we had at Warren Mill last week. from the minute we arrived and drove down the driveway, we felt like we were stepping back in time. what a beautiful home you have! Everything was perfect! The swimming hole was like something you see in a movie, with its beautiful waterfall and historic dam. the kids had a wonderful time at the swimming hole and at the river. we also enjoyed the trains, my brother works for the railroad, it was exciting to see and hear them. We also had a great time cooking in your wonderful kitchen. My parents were thrilled with the area and the wonderful historic house. They can't stop talking about it! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We would love to return someday.

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful home. We had 15 family members gathered here for UVA graduation weekend. There was plenty of room to spread out and lounge about. The kitchen was even spacious enough for us to gather 'round to cook and talk (our favorite things next to eating!) I'm sure everyone had a wonderful time and will remember this trip for a long time. But we will especially remember the gorgeous surroundings of the James River, the fields, creeks, waterfall, and the cozy courtyard. Thanks again for the memories we will take with us. ps. With twenty-five years of renting homes, your wonderful kitchen had absolutely every single item you could possibly want or need to cook and bake. Thank you!!!

The mill was a wonderful site for a weekend retreat with a group of dear friends. I loved the open layout of the first floor, especially the large open kitchen that invited conversation and pitching in during cooking and clean-up time. At the same time, there was plenty of space to enjoy privacy for reflective moments. While the look of the mill is rustic, the kitchen and bath amenities are modern and convenient. The rambling property, including a creek and a thrilling hillside swing, would be a great place to bring a family.

Our book club made a weekend retreat to the Mill in February, 2006. It was lovely! The setting was ideal for both our group discussions and for quiet private reflection. We had fun, too! We played outside, walked to the river, and took turns on the long rope swing that sent us flying into space. The kitchen was great for preparing meals for a group. Railroad fans will like that there is a track adjacent to the property, and they can see the trains go by. This is a very nice property, and I hope to go there again.
